Defending champion Juan Martin Del Potro will face three times champion and top seed Andy Roddick in the final of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington. The second seed Argentine defeated fourth seed Fernando Gonzalez 7-6(2), 6-3 in the semifinal. Roddick defeated compatriot John Isner 6-7(3), 6-2, 7-5 in the other semifinals.

The only time these two players met earlier was in the final in Los Angeles last year where Del Potro won 6-1, 7-6(2).

Del Potro is playing for the sixth title in his career and this will be his 7th final. Earlier this year he won in Auckland. On the highly experienced Andy Roddick will fight for his 28th title in his 44th final appearence. This year Roddick has won in Memphis and stretched Federer in the final of Wimbledon Open.
