Real Madrid won in the first match of their liga campaign against Deportivo la Coruna 3-2 in Santiago Bernabeau Stadium. The Madrid team were leveled by a fighting Deportivo team twice but finally they got the winner.
Real Madrid took the lead early in the match when Raul scored for them at the 26th minute. However Deportivo hit back at the 30th minute through a strike from Riki. Ronaldo soon regained the lead converting the penalty at 35th minute. Just after the break Deportivo got their second goal by veteran Valeron. At the one hour mark Lass Diara got the winner for Real Madrid.
The performance of Real with all their top players may not look that dominating, but the team did perform well and will be a major contender for the La Liga this year.
