[hockey] England Wins Euro Hockey Nations Championship

The Euro Hockey Nations Championship was deprived of a surprise untill the last day. The Women's edition gave the same result as it was last time, but on the last day of the tournament when England came out to be the unlikely winner defeating Germany 5-3 convincingly. England's last moment winner in the semifinal against Netherlands and Germany's 2-1 win over Spain had already deprived the last year finallists an effort to try for the gold this time. It was expected that Germany, who lost the Bronze medal match to Belgium last time, will be in a better position to get a gold this time. And they were leading 3-2 at a time in the second half. But three quick goals from the British side from set pieces, two penalty corners and a stroke, gave them a lead that the Germans found hard to cover up.
In the Bronze medal match, Netherlands defeated Spain 6-1 to get the last spot for a medal.
